VIV Asia after 7th edition of the exhibition for 14 years has developed one of Asia 's most well-known, influence and appeal of an international livestock show. VIV Asia 2009 was held in Bangkok, Thailand from March 11-13. During the opening ceremony, attention was paid to the Asian livestock industry and the world financial crisis.

Total number of exhibitors this year was 518, from 37 countries worldwide were presented in Bangkok. Exhibition area has a slight increase 10% in comparison to 2007, 90% for foreign enterprises and 10% for local exhibitors. There are 83 exhibitors came from China. In total, 21726 visitors from 92 different countries paid a visit to the show.

Walcom Group was paid high attention on this event; our General Manager Mr. YongChian Tan led a delegation to participate in the exhibition at Thailand. On March 10, we visited the Bangkok headquarters of the Chia Tai Group and received a warm reception. Mr. YongChian Tan had a cordial meeting with Vice Chairman of Chia Tai Group, Mr. Thanakorn Seriburi.

During the exhibition, hundreds of visitor from 20 countries visit to Walcom’s booth for product details enquiry especially our overseas distributors and major clients. Walcom Group introduced a new concept in beating the high cost in swine production (α-Project) in this event and getting a high concern by the dealers and clients. For this, Asia Pork magazine had designed an interview for General Manager, Mr. YongChian Tan. It is foreseeable that the implementation of the project will make great contribution to conservation of world’s feed resources.
