On July 11, 2009, α-Project Launching Ceremony and Seminar of Cost Optimization was successful held by Shanghai Walcom Bio-Chem Co.,Ltd. in Shanghai Green Village Hotel. Attendants at the ceremony included General Manager or Technical Director from well-know feed miller industry of such provinces as Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, Henan and Guangdong. They gave a high appraisal of this seminar and α-Project cost optimization program.

         At the beginning of ceremony, participants visited the company's experiment in cooperation with Shanghai Breed Swine Test Center. Mr. WeiLin Fu, Center Supervisor introduced about the Breed Swine Center and Osborne FIRE system principles and operation. The center is now being implemented with Walcom’s R&D project----Effect of CSH at different nutrient level on growth performance of grower-finisher pigs. The trial used 36 sets of Osborne FIRE system which could provide accuracy data in the measurement of inpidual animal daily feed intake and other performance characteristics of growing animals

        General Manager of Shanghai Walcom, Mr. YongChian Tan gave an opening speech and announced the launching of α-Project. α-Project improve animal digestion, absorption and utilization thus efficiently enhances or maintains animal growth and performance in order to reduce feed costs. This project highlights the resource conservation and perfect meet with market demand. Supervisor of SongJiang Animal Disease Control Center, Mr. XiaoFeng Gu introduced the cooperation projects in recent years between Shanghai Breed Swine Test Center and Walcom Group.

         A seminar on cost optimization was held after the launching ceremony. Firstly, Mr. CongLiang Chen, Technical Manager of Shanghai Walcom introduced the test design, implementation and monitoring process. Participants spoke highly of the rigorous attitude of scientific experiments. The next speaker, Prof. ZanMing Shen, Professor from Nanjing Agricultural University introduced nutrient digestion, absorption and utilization of animal through physiological regulation, as well as the latest research progress and direction on Cysteamine. Lastly, Prof. Hongxun Yang, Technical Director of Walcom Group integrating its recent 20 years experience in the formula, sharing and had a lively discussion with participants on the research results of α-Project in recent years and also the ultimate cost-optimized solution. Participants realized the scientific and complexity of animal feeding tests, and has more comprehensive, systematization and correct understanding of cysteamine. They showed strong interest in α-Project and anxious to take part in the relevant research and applications.

         The seminar show a focus on research results of Walcom Group, not only to establish the brand image of Walcom and scientific research attitude, but also giving confidence to industry peer with the use of physiological regulation technology to provide safe and high-quality meat products for human.
