The Global Pig Forum and the 2009 China Pig Industry Development Conference opened in Chengdu, the capital city of the southwestern Chinese province of Sichuan on May 14-15, 2009. Attendants at the opening ceremony include about 500 government officials and representatives from related associations of such countries as Denmark, Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom (UK), and the United States (US). General Manager (Mr. YongChian Tan), Marketing Director (Mr. Lei Yang) and Technical Manager (Mr. CongLiang Chen) of Walcom Group took part in this forum.

  At the forum with the pig industry development and food safety as the theme, attendants are discussing about a wide range of topics, such as the impact of the financial crisis upon the global pig industry and the industry development strategy, control of and solutions to feedstuff safety, risk settlement in food safety and communications with customers, and the environmental technology in pig production and its application. The forum also carried out active-depth interactive discussion on the latest development in pig genetic breeding and production, pig industry developing strategy to improve productivity and economic efficiency, pig disease prevention and control, food safety control management, in order to promote global sustainable development in the pig farming industry.

  In the forum, Walcom standing of consumers and pig husbandry perspective expressed the direction of practical work and effort.
